Sidhant Burela ran the kind of race that holds together under San Francisco's famously punishing terrain. At 56°F and 92% humidity, the conditions weren't brutal, but the city's hills don't care about the weather. Burela averaged 6:23/mi across all 26.2 miles, and his movement through the men's field — tracking between 20th and 28th for much of the race — showed a controlled, disciplined effort. He posted the 18th-fastest split among the women on the 6.52M–10.89M segment, a stretch that caught plenty of runners off-guard.

Logan Farzan, 17 from Lafayette, made the race genuinely interesting. That's a dramatic negative-split surge — though it wasn't quite enough to threaten the top two, his 2:56:21 (6:44/mi) locked up third. Niccolo St. Angel, just 16 from Los Gatos, rounded out the top four in 2:57:22, while 18-year-old Griffin Santa of San Francisco completed a massive charge — from 448th in the men's field early on — to finish 5th in 2:58:33.
