SF Half Marathon M50-54: Mitchley Runs Away With It

That third spot went to Dan Couvillon of Novato, who ran 1:45:03 at 8:01/mi after a slow start — he was sitting well outside the top 300 among men at the 10.9-mile mark before a strong close vaulted him onto the podium. Christophe Delrieu (1:45:53, 8:05/mi) finished 50 seconds behind Couvillon in 4th, having run the opposite arc: he was quicker early but faded slightly over the final miles.

Mavrik Zavarin rounded out the top five in 1:52:23 (8:34/mi), a full 6:30 back of Delrieu — a significant gap that set the top four apart as a class of their own on the day. Behind them, Justin Foxworthy (6th, 1:54:14), Andrew Wee (7th, 1:55:06), and José Martínez (8th, 1:56:41) filled out a competitive middle tier. The M50-54 field ultimately stretched across 77 finishers, with the final listed runner, Justin Lam, crossing in 2:03:05 in 20th — and 57 more behind him completing the course.
