SF Half Marathon F30-34: Sunahara takes the title in 1:29:08

• Lauren Vancitters ran the strongest closing stretch in the group, posting the 10th-fastest women's split from 10.9M to the finish to climb from 16th to 12th among women and seal 2nd in 1:31:46.
• Kelly Huey mirrored that late surge, recording the 30th-fastest women's split on the final leg to move up seven spots in the women's field and claim 3rd in 1:38:54.
• Emily Anderson (4th, 1:39:41) ran the opposite arc — holding 22nd among women through 2.95M before fading to 33rd by the finish, separated from Huey by just 47 seconds.

Jennifer Sunahara controlled the F30-34 race from wire to wire. Running at 6:48/mi through the cool, overcast San Francisco morning, she sat 8th among all women through the first half of the course and never surrendered that foothold, finishing 9th among women in 1:29:08 — a gap of nearly 2:40 over second place. Her 9th-fastest women's split on the 5M–10.9M stretch confirmed she was still pressing through the middle miles when others were managing the city's rolling terrain.

Lauren Vancitters told the most compelling story behind her. She was 16th among women at the start and worked her way forward at every checkpoint — 15th, 14th, and finally 12th by the finish — running 1:31:46 at a 7:00/mi average. That closing split from 10.9M to the line, the 10th-fastest among all women, was the engine of her charge and put a full 1:08 of daylight between her and third place.

Kelly Huey and Emily Anderson waged the race's closest duel. Anderson had the edge for much of the course — she was ahead of Huey among the women's standings through 10.9M — but Huey's 30th-fastest women's closing split reversed the order decisively. Huey finished 3rd in 1:38:54 (7:33/mi); Anderson crossed 4th in 1:39:41 (7:36/mi), 47 seconds back. Behind them, Ana Marin Navarro (5th, 1:42:07) and Kaitlin Allen (6th, 1:42:22) rounded out a tight top six, separated by just 15 seconds, before the field spread across the remaining 234 finishers.
