Elijah Williams, 20, set the tone from the gun and never let up. His 16:40 at 5:22/mi was the class of the men's field on a warm Fresno morning — 74°F and clear — and his 13-second winning margin over second place tells the story of a race he controlled rather than merely survived. Williams is the only finisher to break 16:50, and his gap back to third place (17:47) stretches to over a minute, making the victory as decisive as the numbers suggest.

What makes this men's race genuinely remarkable is how young the front of the field ran. Roman Ramirez is 15 years old and finished 2nd in 16:53. Jacob Erfle (3rd, 17:47) and Pablo Pileno (4th, 17:54) are 17 and 16 respectively, and 16-year-old Diego Tapia followed them home in 18:04 for 5th. Four of the top five finishers are teenagers, and three are 16 or younger — a front pack that reads more like a high school invitational than an open road race.

Jason Horsman provided the counterpoint to all that youth. At 47, he clocked 19:22 (6:14/mi) for 8th place, threading through a field of teenagers to land comfortably inside the top ten. Behind him, 14-year-old Jayden Hernandez rounded out the top ten in 19:47, and a cluster of 12-year-olds — J. Kane (13th, 20:33), J. Gonzalez (14th, 20:34), and B. Nocito Mullaney (15th, 20:44) — made their presence felt in the teens of the standings. Two Cities Fresno's men's 5K in 2025 belonged to the young — and Williams, at 20, was the oldest among them.
