With 115 men in the bracket, Kam's margin was the single largest gap between any two consecutive finishers in the top 20, and it wasn't particularly close.

Behind him, Cristian Morales and Reece Fenning waged the most compelling battle of the morning. Morales, 33, from Hayward, came through in 19:24 at 6:15/mi to claim 2nd. Fenning, also 33 and racing on his home streets in Santa Rosa, crossed just five seconds later at 19:29. That gap — five seconds over 3.1 miles — is as tight as it gets without a photo finish. Juan Padilla of Yuba City rounded out the top four in 19:49, another 20 seconds back, before a larger gap opened to 5th-place Reesey Byers (20:53, 6:43/mi) out of Rohnert Park.

The race thinned out steadily from there. John Reimer (7th, 21:59) and Yave Guzman (8th, 22:03) traded blows in the 22-minute range, with Grant Lowrie — another Santa Rosa local — finishing 9th in 22:06, just three seconds behind Guzman.
