In a women's field of 931, that kind of margin at that pace leaves no room for doubt.

Behind her, the race for the podium had real drama. Lucie James sat third at the seven-mile checkpoint but ran the second-fastest closing split among women — faster than Erin Archibeck's third-fastest — to overtake Archibeck and finish 2nd in 1:18:32. Archibeck held on for 3rd in 1:19:11, a solid 6:02/mi effort, but the back half belonged to James.
