In a dense, competitive fog along the Sacramento course, Allison Orofino of Cameron Park ran the most composed race of the morning. The 64-year-old entered the Out & Back segment sitting 9th among women, then steadily climbed — 5th by the midpoint, 4th at the finish — while posting the 4th-fastest women's split on that critical Out & Back→Lap 1 stretch. Her 8:35/mi average was the sharpest pace in the Masters Female field, and she crossed in 1:52:20, a full 2:32 clear of runner-up Lisa Balestrini.

Balestrini (1:54:52) and Leilani Dunmoyer (1:55:38) both made their moves late, posting the 5th- and 7th-fastest women's splits respectively on the Lap 1→Finish segment to lock up 2nd and 3rd. Patricia Salmon rounded out the podium in 1:55:56, herself having run the 5th-fastest women's split on the Out & Back→Lap 1 leg. Four women, 96 seconds — that's how tight the podium race was.

The most dramatic trajectory belonged to Allison Jerwers, 43, of Sacramento. She was running 4th among women at the midpoint — a position that would have meant Masters Female victory — but faded over the back half to finish 8th among women and 5th in Masters Female at 1:57:44. It's a reminder that the fog and humidity on a January morning in Sacramento don't forgive an early pace that outruns your legs.
