Julie Platt came to San Francisco and left no doubt. The Philadelphia runner's 6:27/mi average was in a different gear from the rest of the F30-34 field — her 40:06 finish was more than three minutes clear of anyone else in the group, a margin that speaks to a race run with total authority from the front.

Behind Platt, the battle for the podium was genuinely competitive. Lucía Saborido of Reno claimed second in 43:24 (6:59/mi), while Iana Tsareva — racing on home turf in San Francisco — finished third in 43:58 (7:05/mi). Tsareva's pace was notably slower than Saborido's, and the 34-second gap between them was real and earned.
