Santa Rosa 5K: Forrey dominates the F30-39 field in the mist

Under cool, misty skies in Santa Rosa — 60°F and thick with humidity — Gretchen Forrey of Sebastopol ran a race that was over almost before it began. Her 6:46/mi average was a full 43 seconds per mile faster than anyone else in the F30-39 field, and she crossed in 21:02 to claim the win by 2:13 over the rest of the field. That kind of margin in a 5K isn't a close race — it's a statement.

Joylin Kent (11th, 28:36) and Kathleen Kirkman (12th, 28:43) were even closer — just 7 seconds apart — before the field spread into the 29- and 30-minute territory through the rest of the top 20.
