Rocket City 10K — F20-24: Hensley Dominates the Young Women's Field

• Evey Hensley won the F20-24 group in 55:05 at an 8:52/mi pace — more than four minutes clear of second place.
• Sarah May claimed second in 59:19, the only other finisher to break the one-hour mark.
• Jessica Wright and Shea Tomlinson staged the closest battle of the day, separated by just 11 seconds (1:04:43 vs. 1:04:54) for third and fourth.
• Twelve women finished across a spread of 31 minutes and 24 seconds from first to last.

Evey Hensley, 21, made this one look straightforward from the gun. Her 8:52/mi average on a warm, breezy December morning in Huntsville — 70°F, 17 mph winds, and 76% humidity — was a level above the rest of the F20-24 field, and her 55:05 finish left no doubt about who owned this age group. Fellow Huntsvillian Sarah May was the only other runner to crack an hour, crossing in 59:19 to lock up second by a comfortable margin.

The real drama unfolded just behind May. Jessica Wright (22, Huntsville) and Shea Tomlinson (24, Huntsville) ran nearly identical races, Wright finishing in 1:04:43 and Tomlinson just 11 seconds back in 1:04:54 — a tight duel for third that was decided by the slimmest of margins. Rarika Morais of Hiram, GA rounded out the top five in 1:05:45, just 51 seconds behind Tomlinson, making it a genuine three-way contest for the podium's final spots.

Further back, Kaitlyn Estes (1:08:40) and Elisabeth Jahnke (1:09:37) ran close enough to keep each other honest through the back half of the race, separated by under a minute at the finish. The final four finishers — Hannah Scime, Meagan Eubanks, Roselynn Nelson, Mikayla Gauldin, and Arabella Miller — spread across a range of 1:18 to 1:26, all of them gutting out a challenging weather day to earn their finish lines.
