The real drama in this 52-finisher field unfolded behind Bruce, where four women separated themselves from the rest. Jacqueline Barrientes of Honolulu ran a measured race — 4th among women through the early checkpoints, 3rd at the finish — crossing in 3:34:34. Maria Cicio of Kailua Kona was the field's biggest mover, working her way from 7th to 4th among women by the finish line in 3:36:35. Rachael Smith of Rolesville held steady in 3:37:45, and that 3rd-through-5th spread across just over three minutes made for a genuine podium battle.

Sharon Adams rounded out the top five in 4:07:28, nearly 30 minutes behind Smith — marking the point where the competitive cluster gave way to a wider spread through the rest of the field. Bethanne Kapansky Wright and Lisa Frasieur finished 7th and 8th in 4:21:29 and 4:21:30 respectively, separated by a single second after more than four hours of racing. Fifty-two women completed the distance on a warm Kaua'i morning, and the range of performances — from Bruce's 6:25 pace to the back of the field — made this one of the Masters Female field's most spread-out editions on record.
