Nancy Rashid made the F50-59 race her own from the jump. The Davis, CA 54-year-old crossed in 1:43:48 at a 20:46/mi average — a pace that, on a course climbing through Tahoe's high-altitude terrain, speaks to serious fitness and a well-executed effort. She didn't just win; she won by more than a quarter-hour.

Tina Lynch of Gabriola, BC was the only other competitor to break two hours, finishing in 1:59:50 at 23:58/mi. At 50, she's the youngest in the field and showed it, putting nearly 73 minutes of daylight between herself and third place. The top-two story was effectively its own race within the race.

Then came a fascinating back half. Christine Velasquez (Sunnyvale, CA), Gail Shrive (Tracy, CA), and Mona Patel (Venice, CA) — all aged 53 or 54 — arrived in a tight cluster more than an hour behind Lynch. Velasquez took third in 3:12:20, Shrive was fourth in 3:16:24 (four minutes back), and Patel rounded out the five in 3:23:23. Just 11:03 covered all three, making that battle for the final podium spot genuinely competitive across what is a demanding stretch of Sierra Nevada skyline.
