Van Horn's 63:22:28 was a distant but respectable 2nd, and his 3rd-fastest men's split on Klickitat→Twin Sisters suggests he was running hard where it counted. The gap to Coleman — more than six hours — tells you less about Van Horn fading and more about how extraordinary Coleman's pace was over 200 miles of volcanic terrain, lava fields, and old-growth forest. Radmer Schalkx of De Bilt rounded out the podium in 74:19:36, recovering from a difficult mid-race stretch where he dropped as far back as 35th among men before grinding his way back to 16th in the men's field and 3rd here.

The mid-pack told its own story.
