Francisco Mora was never seriously threatened. He led from the first checkpoint to the last, and when it mattered most — on the Skyline 1→Finish segment winding through Huddart's moss-draped redwoods — he posted the fastest closing split among all the men to cross in 57:54. That's the only sub-hour time in the field, a margin that made the win look comfortable even on a course that doesn't flatter anyone.

Romain Nguyen was the clearest challenger, holding 2nd place at every checkpoint and finishing in 59:05 with the 2nd-fastest closing split in the men's field. He ran his own clean race, but Mora simply had another gear. Behind Nguyen, the real action was Arjun Parikh's back-half charge: sitting 5th at Skyline, he ran the 3rd-fastest closing split in the men's field and picked off two runners to land on the podium at 1:02:34. Stan Vinokur mirrored that move — 6th at Skyline, 4th at the line in 1:04:06 — with the 4th-fastest closing split of the day.

John Choi, 53, deserves a mention: 5th overall among the men in 1:05:09, with the 7th-fastest closing split despite spotting the top finishers 19–23 years. Trond Kristiansen, 52, followed in 6th at 1:06:02, making the top six a showcase of experience holding its own. At the other end of the spectrum, 14-year-old Zeke Lobay crossed 15th in 1:19:24, while 69-year-old Chuck McGadden finished 13th in 1:15:54 — a 55-year age gap between two finishers in a 40-man field is a story all by itself.
