Way Too Cool 10M — F50-59: Oldfield runs away with it

• Stacy Oldfield won the F50-59 group in 2:03:37 (12:22/mi), finishing more than 6.5 minutes clear of the field.
• Enslow and Madison staged a thriller for 2nd: 2:10:10 vs. 2:10:11 — one second separated them at the line, with Enslow edging it.
• Places 4–6 were a genuine scrum: Longworth, Cappello, and Frank finished within 8 seconds of each other (2:15:34–2:15:42).
• Cantrall and Morris crossed 13th and 14th in 2:41:00 and 2:41:01 — a single second apart after 10 miles.

Stacy Oldfield, 57, from Modesto, owned this race from start to finish. She steadily climbed through the women's field — moving from 22nd among women to 19th — and posted the 8th-fastest women's split on the Fire Station–to–HWY 49 stretch, a sign she was pressing on a demanding segment while others were conserving. Her 12:22/mi average over this hilly Cool, CA course left no doubt at the top.

Behind her, the battle for 2nd was as close as it gets without a tie. Sacramento's Suzanne Enslow (50) and Cool's Michelle Madison (50) ran virtually identical races — both averaging 13:01/mi — but Enslow had the better final kick to HWY 49→Finish, posting the 17th-fastest women's split on that closing stretch to Madison's 15th. Madison actually had the faster split there, yet Enslow arrived at the finish line one second ahead. Both had tracked each other through the women's field all day, sitting 27th and 28th among women at mid-race before finishing 25th and 26th.

The fight for 4th was nearly as dramatic. Angie Longworth, Michelle Cappello, and Erika Frank were separated by just eight seconds across the line — 2:15:34, 2:15:36, and 2:15:42 — with Longworth and Cappello finishing just two seconds apart despite Cappello having posted the stronger Fire Station–HWY 49 split (21st among women vs. Longworth's 18th on the final stretch).

Further back, the 20-finisher F50-59 field spread out across the course, with Laura Brookfield and Beata Desselle — both 59, both from Pittsburgh — closing out the group within two seconds of each other at 3:06:11 and 3:06:13. From wire to wire, this age group delivered tight racing at nearly every position on the leaderboard.
