Rachel Miura arrived in Poipu and made the 77°F humidity look like a minor inconvenience. Running 7:15 per mile across 13.1 miles, the Laguna Hills native built steadily through the women's field — 8th among women at the start, 6th at the midpoint checkpoint, and 5th by the finish. Her margin over 2nd-place Jill Soller was 15 minutes and 42 seconds, which is less a close race than a statement.

Soller, a local from Hanapepe, held her position steadily through the race and crossed in 1:50:39 at 8:26/mi to claim 2nd in the age group. Elena Milmo of Avon, CO came in 3rd at 1:55:44, with Kimberley Garreau just 1:05 behind in 4th — but Garreau's story was the more interesting one. Starting the final segment down in 46th among women, she unleashed the 33rd-fastest women's closing split to vault into 41st, securing 4th in F30-34 ahead of Boulder's Morgan Murphey (1:57:19).

The battle for places 6 through 10 played out in the kind of tight cluster that makes age-group racing compelling. Emma Grunwald (Kapaa, HI), Kaydee Ramirez, Juliana Caffrey, Karina Reinhard, and Melyssa Peplowski all finished within 1:22 of each other — a stretch of racing where a single strong mile could have reshuffled the order entirely. With 130 finishers in the F30-34 field on a warm, humid morning on Kaua'i's south shore, the depth was real.
