Anna Vickers had this race in hand from the opening kilometres. Tracking 16th among women through the first checkpoint, she settled into a composed 8:50/mi rhythm and, despite drifting slightly to 22nd by 10K, worked her way steadily back through the women's field — reaching 19th by 40K before closing out in 20th among women at the line. Dineen and Dear filled out the four-person field. Dear had a long day on the London streets, crossing in 5:50:58 — but he did find a relative highlight on the 15K→20K stretch, posting the group's fastest split there on his way to fourth.
