Non-Binary 5K: Guzman dominates a six-person field

• Vincent Guzman won in 26:14 (8:27/mi), finishing 3:37 clear of 2nd place — by far the largest margin in the Non-Binary field.
• Eden Zimbelman and Alejandro Alvarado Diesta-Troutman staged the closest battle of the race: 2nd and 3rd separated by just 19 seconds (29:51 vs. 30:10).
• Estera Kot (4th, 33:31) and Michelle Rockett (5th, 35:16) were separated by 1:45, with both finishing well clear of 6th.
• Lauren Kush rounded out the six-finisher field in 51:29 (16:34/mi).

Vincent Guzman, 18, from San Jose, came to San Francisco and made the Non-Binary race his own. His 26:14 — an 8:27/mi clip through damp, windy conditions at 55°F — was in a different tier from the rest of the field. The 3:37 gap back to 2nd place tells the story plainly: Guzman was racing on his own terms from the front.

The real drama unfolded behind him, where Eden Zimbelman (San Francisco, age 24) and Alejandro Alvarado Diesta-Troutman (San Leandro, age 52) ran nearly stride for stride to the finish. Zimbelman held 2nd in 29:51 (9:36/mi), with Alvarado Diesta-Troutman crossing just 19 seconds later in 30:10 (9:43/mi). That Alvarado Diesta-Troutman, at 52, ran that close to a 24-year-old competitor in a wet, blustery San Francisco morning is worth noting on its own.

Estera Kot (Redmond, WA) finished 4th in 33:31 at 10:47/mi, followed by fellow Seattle-area finisher Michelle Rockett in 5th at 35:16 (11:21/mi) — a gap of 1:45 between them. Lauren Kush, a San Francisco local, completed the field in 6th at 51:29.
