Sitting 7th among women through the first half, she held steady before unleashing a second half that was the 2nd-fastest among all women in the race. By the finish she had climbed to 2nd among women overall, crossing in 1:25:10 at a 6:30/mi clip — a 3:29 margin over her nearest F25-29 rival that left no doubt about who owned this race.

Behind her, Erin McDonald, 27, ran one of the sharpest closing efforts in the field. Starting 15th among women, she worked her way methodically through the pack, and her 2nd-fastest women's split on the final stretch carried her to 2nd in F25-29 in 1:28:39. Daisy Williamson, 28, rounded out the podium in 1:30:54, having posted the 12th-fastest women's split on the middle segment to hold off a charging pack.

The real drama unfolded just behind the podium. Catie Camron, 27, was the field's most aggressive mover — starting 32nd among women, she ripped the 8th-fastest women's split on the 5M–10.9M segment and vaulted all the way to 4th in F25-29 at 1:31:13. Alexandra Intriago, 26, matched that same split rank on the final stretch and climbed from 33rd among women to 5th (1:31:45), just 32 seconds behind Camron. In a field of 443 finishers, the top five were separated by under seven minutes — a testament to the depth this group brought to the streets of San Francisco.
