Napa's 47°F morning and 12 mph wind made for honest racing conditions, and Peggy McGill of Novato, CA took full advantage. The 76-year-old was never headed, carrying the lead in the F75-79 race from start to finish and crossing in 3:04:06 — a composed, committed effort at 14:03 per mile.

Ann Sperling-Kennedy, 75, made the trip from Austin, TX and completed the half marathon in 3:46:48 at 17:18/mi. The gap between the two was substantial — over 42 minutes — but Sperling-Kennedy earned her finish on a course that asks something real of every runner, regardless of the size of the field around them.

On the middle segment from 3.1 to 6.9 miles, McGill ran the faster split of the two, and both athletes gradually moved through the women's field in the back half of the race. Two finishers, two stories of putting in the work — and McGill takes the F75-79 title at Napa 2025.
