She was running at 15:16/mi across 100 miles at elevation that tops out near 12,500 feet at Hope Pass, twice. Her most electric stretch came on the 8.6M→20.5M segment, where she posted the 13th-fastest women's split in the entire women's field — a burst that helped her climb as high as 14th among women before the long back half of the course settled the standings.

Behind her, Mei Yang (San Jose, CA) made her move on the back half, running the 20th-fastest women's split among all women on the 64.2M→72.8M stretch. Yang's patient early race — she was 58th among women at the first check — paid off as she steadily climbed to 31st overall among women and 2nd in F50-59 in 26:22:01. Lisa Albers of Highlands Ranch, CO — racing in her own backyard region — came in 3rd in 26:51:39, having posted the 22nd-fastest women's split on the 20.5M→26.0M leg early on before a gradual fade through the second half.

The most relentless mover of the day was Jolene Sandoval, who calls Leadville home and clearly knows this course. Starting 92nd among women, she never stopped climbing — 63rd, 57th, 53rd, 48th, 46th, 38th, 36th — finishing 4th in F50-59 in 27:00:26. At the back of the field, Keira Morrell (6th, 29:04:29) and Kris Ingols (5th, 29:05:11) both punched their tickets under 30 hours for the coveted silver buckle. Ingols ran the stronger closing leg — 32nd-fastest women's split from 89.2M to the finish — but Morrell's earlier time advantage held, separating the two by 42 seconds. Trish Hall of Golden, CO rounded out the seven-finisher F50-59 field in 29:11:16, also under the 30-hour buckle cutoff.
