Patrick Kipngeno led the men's race from the gun and never relinquished it, crossing in 37:59 at 10:31/mi — a controlled, dominant effort across a course that climbs into air thin enough to punish anyone who goes out too hard. The Naivasha native held the top spot at every checkpoint, and while the field compressed behind him on the KT 22→Finish segment, nobody had enough left to close the gap.

Cameron Smith had the answer for everyone except Kipngeno. Running out of Crested Butte, CO, Smith posted the fastest closing split of any man in the field on that final segment, vaulting from 3rd to 2nd and finishing in 38:09 — 10 seconds back. His compatriot Philemon Kiriago, also from Naivasha, had shadowed Smith's early position in 2nd but couldn't match the late pace, slipping to 3rd in 38:22. Christian Allen (4th, 38:29) had the 3rd-fastest closing split among the men, confirming that the final stretch was where positions were won and lost today.

Brayan Rodríguez Flores rounded out the top five in 38:51, with Casey Campbell (38:56) and Meikael Beaudoin-Rousseau (39:06) completing a tight lead pack where the top seven finished within 67 seconds of each other. Italy's Cesare Maestri checked in 8th at 39:44, followed by Kieran Nay and Jeret Gillingham to close out the top ten — all of them navigating the same overcast, humid morning at altitude that made every minute earned feel like it cost something extra.
