Behind them, the race for 3rd was the day's tightest subplot. Michelle Miller (65, Novato) and Stacy Fore (60, Grass Valley) ran nearly in lockstep — Miller finishing in 1:34:00 and Fore in 1:36:04, just over two minutes back. Miller edged four spots forward among women on the closing leg; Fore held exactly steady.
