Her 1:18:47 at 7:53/mi stood nearly 27 minutes clear of second place — a dominant, wire-to-wire performance on a warm April morning in Auburn.

The real drama unfolded behind her. Greta Crumley, just 20 years old, sat 11th at the first checkpoint but unleashed the 2nd-fastest women's split on the Rattlesnake Bar→Last Gasp segment to surge all the way to 2nd by the finish. Lianne Vicchio, who had been steadier through the middle stages, held 3rd at 1:46:01 — just seven seconds behind Crumley — thanks in part to the 2nd-fastest women's split on the Last Gasp→Finish leg. That closing kick kept her on the podium, but Crumley's mid-race charge was the difference. Jennifer Tommasini (4th, 1:53:58) and Michelle Huffman (5th, 1:55:16) rounded out the top five, with Huffman's leap from 17th to 5th one of the most eye-catching moves of the race.

Further back, the battle between Mo Bartley and Dee Lloyd deserves its own headline. Both 70 years old, they crossed the line in 18th and 19th place with the same displayed time of 2:14:45 — the chip separating them a mere 0.16 seconds after more than two hours of racing. Colleen Casey, 63, had already claimed 11th in 2:05:43, making the back half of this women's field a quiet showcase of experience refusing to yield.
