In a men's field of 1,613 running through 34°F mist along the St. Jude campus and down Union Avenue, Oliver Rigg was simply in a different gear. The Indianapolis runner led from start to finish, never relinquishing his top spot, and sealed it with the fastest closing split of any man on the 1.55-mile run to the finish. His 16:31 — averaging 5:19 per mile — held up as the benchmark for the entire field.

Behind him, Declan Murphy of Memphis was a steady second throughout, crossing in 17:19 at 5:34/mi to claim the runner-up spot on his home course. The real drama was one place back. Aaron Camp and Liam McNeil swapped positions in the final stretch — Camp running the faster closing split to move up from 4th to 3rd (18:09), while McNeil, who had held 3rd at the midpoint, faded just enough to finish 4th in 18:13. Four seconds and a position change — decided in the back half of the race.

Further back, Ellis Tognetti authored the most dramatic move in the top ten, surging from 8th at the midpoint all the way to 5th by the finish in 18:37. That set up a frantic three-way scrap at the line: Tognetti, Cullen Dore (18:40, Fort Mill, SC), and Gabe Bullock (18:41, Olive Branch) finished within a four-second window for 5th, 6th, and 7th. Charlie Egan (19:21, 8th), Aiden Hogue (19:25, 9th), and Henry Carter (19:35, 10th) rounded out the top ten for the men.
