Napa Valley 5K — F25-29: Nogles Takes the Win in Brisk Napa Conditions

• Tess Nogles won the F25-29 race in 25:04 (8:04/mi), finishing 30 seconds clear of runner-up Lili Muskal.
• Lili Muskal (25:34, 8:14/mi) held second, with Mary Snook another 43 seconds back in third at 26:17 (8:28/mi).
• Places 9 and 10 were decided by a single second: Madison Rhodes (28:10) edged Tryphena Tandriarto (28:11).
• Priya Sundaresan and Nikhar Arora clocked the exact same displayed time of 28:57 (9:19/mi), finishing 13th and 14th respectively — separated only by the finest margin of the clock.

Under 48-degree skies and a stiff 12 mph wind off the Napa Valley floor, Tess Nogles from Bryn Mawr, PA ran the cleanest race in the F25-29 field, crossing in 25:04 at an 8:04/mi clip. That pace held up as the benchmark for the entire group — no one else in the top 20 came within 10 seconds per mile of it. Muskal, a San Francisco local, gave chase and made it respectable at 25:34, but Nogles' 30-second cushion at the line was never seriously threatened.

Mary Snook of Seaside, CA rounded out the podium in 26:17 (8:28/mi), a further 43 seconds back. From there, the race tightened considerably: Emma Nerad (4th, 27:08) and Lydia Joe (5th, 27:25) were separated by just 17 seconds, and the next two — Erin Fashola (6th, 27:41) and Hannah Ni (7th, 27:44) — were only three seconds apart as the wind made every second count on the back half.

The battle for 9th and 10th was the closest of the day. Madison Rhodes (Charlotte, NC) and Tryphena Tandriarto (Redwood City, CA) both showed 9:04/mi averages, with Rhodes taking 9th and Tandriarto 10th by a single second. Meanwhile, Natalie Fernandez of San Francisco closed out the listed top 20 in 30:48 (9:55/mi), with 41 more finishers completing what was a deep and competitive F25-29 field of 61.
