Nobody in the F45-49 field came close — her margin of nearly 16 minutes over second place tells the story plainly.

Behind her, the battle for the podium was a different kind of drama. Cress Kwolek of Austin ran a strong middle section, posting the 25th-fastest women's split on the 13.1M→20M leg, and held second place at 3:23:34. But Tami Pauly of Oceano was charging.
