With 600 finishers in 2025 and a median that has improved every single year since 2022, this Huntsville road race has quietly become one of the more competitive December 5Ks in the region.

Field size has climbed steadily: 320 finishers in 2022, 321 in 2023, 417 in 2024, and 600 in 2025 — an 87% increase over four years. Women have made up exactly half the field in the most recent edition (300 of 600), up from 198 of 320 in 2022. The overall median has improved each year: 38:44 → 37:53 → 36:38 → 35:19, a cumulative drop of more than three and a half minutes at the midpoint of the field. The top 10% cutoff has tightened similarly, falling from 27:01 in 2023 to 23:11 in 2025.
