She sat atop the women's field from the 1M mark onward, never relinquishing position, and posted the 4th-fastest women's split in the 1M-to-10K segment to establish her early authority. She crossed in 1:21:00, a margin of more than three minutes over her nearest competitor in a 739-woman field.

Cathleen Willy was equally unflappable. The 41-year-old from Clovis ran 2nd from start to finish, clocking 1:24:09 at 6:25/mi — a noticeably faster pace than everyone behind her. She also posted the 5th-fastest women's split through the 1M-to-10K segment, making clear this wasn't a conservative hold-on effort. It was a controlled, aggressive race that simply ran into a better one up front.

The podium's final spot was decided in the back half. Olga Esmeral of San Francisco sat 4th through 10K, then unleashed the 6th-fastest women's closing split to overtake Dennise Salazar-Maravilla, who had been running 3rd. Esmeral finished in 1:27:51 (6:42/mi); Salazar-Maravilla crossed in 1:28:34 (6:45/mi) — 43 seconds back and bumped to 4th. Just 10 more seconds behind her came Kiley Butchert in 5th at 1:28:44, who had also been among the faster women early, posting the 7th-best 1M-to-10K split in the field.

Luisa Coronel of Tulare deserves a special mention: at 59, she ran 7th among all 739 women in 1:33:00 at 7:06/mi — a result that speaks for itself.
